Clotheshow Live 07

Click image to view GalleryThis marks CBD’s 8th year building stages at the Clotheshow Live – but this year there wasn’t a catwalk in sight! We created the Live Music stage for the media sponsor Kerrang Radio and the Hair and Beauty Stage for Superdrug.
The brief for the Music Stage was to resemble a Festival stage. A tiered stage built from Litedeck positioned the drummer at over 3.5m from the ground - no room for vertigo at this year’s show!
The event was the first outing for our new sound equipment, a 32 channel Allen & Heath console mixed the bands with DJs and effects coming into a Mix Wizard 3. The main PA was our GAE system with onstage monitoring provided by our HK boxes.
Two cross-stage trusses were used to suspend lighting, with more lighting spread across the stage risers. LED colour bricks produced a phenomenally bright image and drew comment from another stage over 200m away!
Whilst the Kerrang stage was definitely a boys stage, the girls were not to be outdone with their very own pink stage for Superdrug. A 3-level stage was built into a corner site, finished with white dance floor vinyl and pink fascias. The stage boasted two large front projection screens, illuminated courtesy of a pair of 4500 lumens projectors. The set utilised some internally lit pillars, providing stability for the built-in handrails.
As well as a constant stream of hair and beauty presentations, the stage also hosted the inaugural ‘Young Hairdresser of the Year’ competition, presented by the Clotheshow’s Brendan Courtney.
